LEGO Robotics at Sea Road School

Date: Spring 2013 Amount: $3,088.90 Robotics equipment is purchased to expand the program in place at Sea Road School. Robotics provides hands on learning in science, technology, engineering, math and literacy education.  Grade 4 held a robotics exhibition in Spring 2013.  Grade 5 will explore renewable energy during the 2013-2014 school year.

MaineStage at MSK and KHS

KHS Radio Equipment

Date: Fall 2012 Amount: $1,960.00 Microphones, mixer, and other radio equipment is needed to improve the function and quality of KHS’s radio broadcasts and management.  With new equipment, additional students can come on board and contribute to programming that benefits the entire KHS community as well as listeners beyond KHS.

Julia Robinson Math Festival

Artist in Residence

Date: Spring 2012 Amount: $5,000 Kennebunk Elementary School to host an artist for ten days who will work with the children on a special tile project.  Students would design naturalistic ceramic tiles that would be glazed and fired and eventually create a permanent mural at the school.

Camp Kieve

Date: Spring 2012 Amount: $17,700   MSK 7th graders next year will attend leadership school Camp Kieve. In a group classroom setting and through activities including games, a rock-climbing wall, and a ropes course, the camp teaches the children healthy risk-taking, team building, and leadership strategies.
