Museum of Science Presentations
Schools: Kennebunkport Consolidated School, ML Day School, Sea Road School Amount: $590.00
Boston Museum of Science educators will present one presentation for each grade level. Grade 5 will experience “Weather: Wind, Water and Temperature” which demonstrates how atmospheric phenomena interact with each other to create the weather we experience every day. Students watch a hot air balloon launch toward the ceiling, pressurize a tank to create enough wind to power a cannon, and see a cloud form before their eyes. The grade 4 program is “Now Hear this: The Sound of Silence”. Students learn about vibrations and how changes in their speed or size create the interpretations we call sound. They’ll hear a sonic boom, experience how a vacuum diminishes vibration, and see a drinking glass shatter solely due to sound.
