Telling Room Field Trip

Name of Applicant: Sara Clinehens, 6th Grade Language Arts Teacher

The 6th grade will visit the nationally recognized Telling Room in Portland, Maine to spend a morning as a working writer.  Students will be trained in interview skills and take to the streets of Portland in small groups to seek out the stories of locals and tourists alike. Groups will return to the studio to put their materials together and write!  The goal of the field trip is to seek to build confidence, and strengthen literacy skills.
