Storybook Walk

School: Mildred L. Day School Date: Spring 2015 Amount: $621.05 This grant will allow for the creation of a semi-permanent Storybook Walk at Mildred L. Day School. This walk will be used by the students and staff at Mildred L. Day School to address deficiencies in phonetic and literacy skills for incoming kindergarteners and cultivate a culture and climate for the love of reading. The proposal also fits well with the preschool literacy program previously funded by the Education Foundation of the Kennebunks and Arundel. The money will be used to purchase books, stamps, and other program materials. All hardware and wood materials will be donated by Home Depot.
